You've had a birthday!

Chris was gone for his birthday.....I think that it's a reoccurring theme.  It did work out well that he did get to be in Yakima for work that week so he did spend it with his mom and friends.

When he returned home Jaden has this fun idea to setup cupcakes as the Ute's and BYU team.

Later on a few others came over to watch the game and celebrate Chris's birthday.

For his birthday once again we did tickets for a boys weekend to Provo to watch a BYU game.

They had a lot of fun and it was nice for me and the girls to have a little time together without them.  We enjoyed a night out at the movies!

Happy birthday!

Grid Kid Football

Another year of football is almost in the books.  Thankfully Jaden didn't have a broken elbow this year.

Jaden has been very dedicated this year and worked really hard.  This year they combined two teams together so it hasn't been an ideal year and it's his 3rd coach in 3 years but he still has worked hard and tried his best.

Jaden's team has had a great season and only lost 1 game.  I hope he can take lessons he's and continue to be dedicated and work hard.

Fun at the fair!

I love that my kids don't have school on Fridays! It gives us one extra day to spend time together, especially when Saturday's feel like they are filled with sports.

So our weekly Friday activity was spent at the fair. This is the first time I Was brave  enough to take all the kids by myself.

My kids really enjoyed the animal exhibits.

The girls crack me up. They kept "baing" while I took this photo.

They now can milk a cow.

They loved this fella.

They had these all over the fair and they insisted on pictures in every one.

Not big at all!

They went on so many rides.

We enjoyed way too many treats!
Landon was so sweet to share with his sisters. He has a big ❤️.

Best corn ever!

Cutest spud ever.

Mother goose had the cutest act.

These two girls are the sweetest little friends.

We spent over 7 hours there and were exhausted by the end.

Until next year!

Labor Day weekend!

I asked my kids what they wanted to do for Labor Day! Jadens only request was Cheesecake Factory. Since we don't have one here I took the kids down to Utah and Chris flew in there from work.

On our way down I took my kids to Maddox. I have never taken them there but it was a favorite growing up and I wanted them to experience it too. It was sooooo good!

We planned on hitting 7 peaks one last time but I had 6 stitches in my finger and my doctors said no. Instead we stayed at the hotel.
The girls were finally tall enough to go on the big slide and they went over and over and over. They aren't the strongest swimmers yet and since I couldn't be in the water I spent hours with my eyes on them.

Once Chris flew in the boys headed to Cheesecake Factory. Jaden thought it was just as good as it was hyped up to be!

It was a short but sweet trip and I got to hit Traders Joes. I love that place!

Be still my heart

After over a year of hard work, discouragement, and frustration the charter school officially opened.

Up until 2 weeks ago Jaden was going to attend our neighborhood school but a change of heart brought such a completeness to the whole experience.

I can't begin to describe the atmosphere that exists at this incredible place. I know young minds will be stretched and growth will take place.

My boys chose to ride the bus yesterday morning even though I had to go and help at the school. As I dropped them off at the stop tears wouldn't stop falling.

I couldn't be more excited that Jaden and Gracie are in the same class and I don't think they could be either.

My girls are in afternoon kindergarten and their first day is a scavenger hunt with their parents to explore the school.

They have been blessed to have had most of their favorite friends join them at the charter. They are most excited about cousin Harper.

What an incredible journey and hopefully an incredible year.

Back to school dinner

To say my boys are obsessed with WWE would be an understatement. They love to "fight" and replicate the moves and talk about the characters like their old friends. Thus our theme for the 2016/2017 year was born.

I wasn't motivated to go overboard and warned the kids their really wasn't gifts this year.

We set the theme as Work Wins Evertime and added phrases the wrestlers used such as "never give up".

For the first time ever, I did a shrimp boil for dinner. The kids didn't love it but they didn't hate it either.

The kids we excited with the reveal of the theme and enjoyed the discussion of things to do this year.

After dinner they all played with the little wrestling dudes and play set. I was surprised how a simple gift that wasn't over the top made them the most happy. Definitely the most successful back to school night dinner yet.

For the Powell family reunion we met up at one of my kids favorite places.

Not only was it fun but my kids got to enjoy it with some of their favorite people, their cousins.

Fun times were had by all!!!
